Though 2012 offers a lot to look forward to, we are currently focusing on the RunWild 5k Run/Walk benefiting the Chapman Partnership next month. This cause was first brought to our attention by ESB employee – Christina Corrigan – who you met here . Learning what the Chapman Partnership is – a private sector partner of the Miami-Dade County Homeless Trust— and what it offers the community – empowerment of the homeless through a comprehensive, holistic approach to helping them achieve self-sufficiency and housing stability – we were happy to help.
Established in 1993, the Chapman Partnership has admitted over 83,500 homeless people, over 16,700 of which were children. They have also served over 5,700 in their Mobile Dental Unit with over 46,000 procedures valued at over $3.5 million. The catch? They need donations and volunteers to make it possible.
That’s where the 5k comes in. Not only are we one of the event sponsors, but we’ve also agreed to pay the signup fee for any employees interested in joining. With an ever-growing list of participants and the lovely Miami weather we’ve been enjoying lately, February 11th can’t come soon enough!
